Most common first appointment FAQs

  • What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a valid ID, your dental insurance card (if applicable), a list of current medications, and any relevant medical or dental records. Providing this information helps us create a comprehensive profile for your care.

  • What should I expect during my first appointment?

A routine dental check-up typically includes a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, X-rays if necessary, a professional cleaning, and a discussion about your oral health. It's an opportunity for us to address any concerns and tailor your treatment plan.

  • How long does a typical first appointment last?

The duration of a dental appointment varies based on the nature of the visit. A routine check-up and cleaning generally take around 60 to 90 minutes, while more involved procedures may require additional time. Our staff will provide a clear estimate for your specific appointment.

  • Will the Doctor discuss treatment options during the first appointment?

Absolutely. Your first appointment is an opportunity for Dr. Rangel to conduct a comprehensive examination, discuss your oral health goals, and present suitable treatment options. We prioritize open communication to ensure you are well-informed and comfortable with your treatment plan.

Most common FAQs

  • What are your business hours?

We are open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • When should I bring my kid to see an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. The check-up may reveal that your child’s bite is fine. Or, the orthodontist may identify a developing problem that requires early treatment.

  • What is an orthodontist? Why should I see one instead of my dentist?

Orthodontists undergo an additional 2-3 years of specialty training to become licensed. Whereas your dentist may be able to treat simple orthodontic cases, they do not have the same training in dentofacial orthopedics that would allow them to treat the most complex craniofacial anomalies.

  • I’m an adult. Does Dr. Rangel treat adult patients?

  • I don’t have insurance. Do you offer financing?
